Position: Training Coordinator
Supervisor: Division Chief of Training

Hiring Salary: $78,000 - $90,000 annually
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the general direction of the Division Chief of Training, this position coordinates facility activities to include marketing, facility scheduling to both internal and external clients, the arrangement and organization of daily training commitments/activities, data retrieval, analysis, and report development.
This position shall support the district mission to optimize the use of and appropriately leverage the SACFD training facilities for training opportunities while simultaneously supporting the district’s training needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following summarizes the primary responsibilities of the Training Coordinator and is not all-inclusive.
Organizational Leadership & Support
- Promote the district’s mission, values, and continuous improvement in firefighter safety, community safety, training, and Training Center optimization.
- Assist the Training Chief in planning, executing, and directing firefighter training programs.
- Collaborate on monthly training calendars and annual training strategy.
- Recommend and implement Training Division and District policies and procedures.
Training Operations & Program Coordination
- Support day-to-day Training Center operations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Coordinate training programs, facility use, and related budgets, including cost-benefit justifications.
- Ensure customer accessibility through scheduling, staffing, classroom setup, and conflict resolution while prioritizing district needs.
- Coordinate logistics for fire academies, including scheduling, documentation, SharePoint management, and expense tracking.
- Manage electronic testing platforms for academies and promotional processes.
Facilities & Asset Management
- Oversee holistic asset management of training facilities, props, grounds, and buildings.
- Coordinate with Facilities Manager and Training Chief to maintain the Training Center complex.
- Perform cleaning, upkeep, and routine maintenance (e.g., laundry, gym/sauna, waste, air filters).
- Operate district equipment and vehicles (e.g., Bobcat, UTV, trucks) as needed.
- May serve as project manager for facility improvements.
Inventory, Supplies & Vendor Coordination
- Order, stock, and manage Training Center supplies, refreshments, and event materials.
- Ensure responsible use of supplies and manage vendor services (e.g., water delivery, shredding).
- Act as liaison with external contractors and vendors.
Records, Compliance & Certification
- Maintain accurate Training Division records (rosters, agreements, budgets, schedules, invoices).
- Manage PSTrax ticket entry and tracking.
- Coordinate certification processes with CMCB, including applications, testing, and compliance.
- Verify and validate new hire certifications per CMCB requirements.
Wellness & Organizational Programs
- Collaborate with the Wellness Manager on annual physicals, wellness programs, PFTs, and equipment maintenance.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED).
· Must have a CMCB Evaluator 1 certification within six (6) months of hire.
· Knowledge of Vector Solutions Software
· Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including computer, copier, fax, calculator, and multi-line phone.
· Possess a working knowledge of inventory management/systems as related to fire department equipment and PPE.
· An advanced level of organizational skills is required for successful performance in this position.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· This position involves periods of sedentary administrative work in an office setting.
· Use of sensory activities such as talking, seeing, hearing will be required frequently.
· This position requires the ability to push, pull, pinch, grip, reach overhead, reach away from body, and repetitive motions. Standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting will also be required as necessary to perform essential duties.
· Must be able to work evenings and weekends on occasion as needed.
· Work may involve periods of high mental and/or emotional stress.
· Position requires ability to frequently lift/move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift/move objects up to 25 lbs.
· Position requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
